Jamille Teer
Region 3 Representative
Jamille Teer is an educator, organizer, and lecturer with almost two decades of demonstrated experience in higher education. Teer is an alumnus of the College of Marin and also got her professional start there working as an hourly employee in Admissions & Records, DSP&S, and the Childcare Center. After a brief stint as a teacher for West Oakland Community School, she moved to Peralta Community College District (PCCD) in the Department of General Services, where she remains responsible for a diversity of operational issues, including Capital Bonds, Facilities Maintenance & Operations, and Security Services.
Teer chaired the committee to establish a Classified Senate for the District Service Center, and is currently serving as the Vice President/ Secretary of that Senate body. Her passion for service has also led her to create several professional development initiatives for Classified Professionals including the launch of PCCD’s first all-Classified Professional Development Day, presented on classified professional development programming at the 2024 Classified Leadership Institute, and co-author a rubric for Classified Professionals seeking administrative positions at Peralta– which is now being adopted by the Human Resources Department. In addition to her work in higher education and leadership in the Senate, Teer serves as the Vice-President of SEIU 1021, and is in her 14th year as a volunteer casework supervisor for the Alameda County American Red Cross. She currently holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Hawaii.
