Bringing Family Members

• Please reserve only one room through the CLI conference block if you are attending with family.

• If additional rooms are needed, book them directly with the hotel outside of the CLI block.

• Family members are not included in CLI meals or conference activities. Any meals, activities, or hotel services for family members must be paid for separately.

The California Community Colleges Classified Senate (4CS) invites you to share your expertise at the 2027 Classified Leadership Institute (CLI)!

We are seeking proposals for panel discussions, group discussions, and small group breakout sessions. Proposals open TBD and must be submitted by TBD.

Our six primary strands are designed to address the evolving opportunities and challenges in our colleges, with a focus on improving student success:

Equipping classified professionals with the governance tools, confidence, and clarity needed to lead with integrity and advocate effectively within their campus and district.

Student Success

Student-centered, equity-minded practices that uplift and work to meet the needs of students.

Wellness

Centering wellness, resilience, and community to support classified professionals during stressful times and feelings of burnout.

Culture & Climate 

Fostering a community-minded, equity-driven campus culture through meaningful action in support of classified professionals and students’ sense of belonging.

Leadership 

Developing leadership skills, mentorship networks, and strategies for classified professionals to strengthen their knowledge, communication skills, and confidence needed to step into leadership roles across the California Community Colleges system.

Innovation & Impact 

Encourage strategic thinking, creativity, and innovation to address campus issues and systemic barriers within the California Community College System.

Additional Information

• Proposals will be reviewed for relevance and balance in the program.

• Presenters must register and pay the conference registration fee by TBD, to confirm participation.

• No honoraria or expense reimbursements are provided.

• 4CS may adjust titles/descriptions, move sessions to different strands, or suggest joint presentations if topics overlap.

The California Community Colleges Classified Senate (4CS) developed this scholarship to identify Community College Classified Professionals with exemplary leadership skills while engaging in the governance process. The candidates will have the opportunity to attend the annual Classified Leadership Institute, including the registration fee and $400 toward their hotel stay.
