Amparo Medina has been involved with higher education and Classified Senate since 2015 when she started her career at Oxnard College. In her role at Oxnard College, she currently oversees and coordinates several mentoring programs that provide mentorship to OC students through peer mentorship, employee-student mentoring and career mentorship.

Amparo was first elected to serve as the 2nd Vice President for the OC Classified Senate and then stepped into the role of President in 2017. She was recently re-elected to serve until 2023. Amparo has worked to elevate the classified voice and inclusion in decision making at Oxnard College. She has successfully advocated for tri-chairs at both the college level and the district level where she serves as a tri-chair of the Professional Development Committee, the District Council on Human Resources, the District Council on Accreditation and Planning and the Anti-Racism Workgroup.

Amparo is passionate about collaboration and action, governance and leadership. She works hard to support Oxnard College Classified Senate as well as students and Oxnard College as a whole. Since her time at Oxnard College, Amparo has received her MS in Educational Counseling and previously received her BA in American Studies at UC Berkeley.
