Classified Staff Listserve

California Community College Listserve for Classified Staff

This CCCCS-CLASSIFIED Listserve is provided as a service by CCC Technology Center at Butte College to the classified staff and educational community at the request of 4CS. The Listserv Netiquette Use Policy and Disclaimer is located at the bottom of this page. Please honor it for the benefit of all subscribers.

CCCCS-CLASSIFIED Listserve

The CCCCS-CLASSIFIED Listserve is useful computer program that enables you to communicate directly with others who may share a common interest. If you have previously subscribed to the listserve, you can send an email to the listserve, and it will distribute your email to all of the other subscribers. You can ask questions, seek data, answer questions and share information. When you send an email message to the listserve, it automatically sends it out to everyone and anyone who has previously subscribed. All you have to do is to subscribe and send an email when you are ready. It is a free service.

Important Notice and Cautions

There are some important understandings about a listserve that you need to know. Anyone can sign-on to the listserve. Although we are specifically inviting classified staff to sign-up, the listserve is not regulated, and any one can subscribe if they are interested in doing so. Remember this when you send an email. Your email will go to all subscribers regardless of who they are and, therefore, please act responsibly. Your email presents you to others.

To allow others to respond directly and only to you, consider including your email address in the text of your message that you send to the listserve including your request for a direct response. If you are responding to an email from someone else and "reply" to the email, it will send your reply to everyone on the list, sharing your information with everyone.

Purpose and Value

It is our intent to use this listserver for classified senate and governance related issues, facilitating classified communication across the state. We are not responsible for the content or statements within emails submitted to the listserve by others; they are. For direct communications from 4CS, we will continue to use the 4CS email distribution list, our Web site and by paper mail to your senate. In encouraging the use of this classified listserver, we are providing you, as a community college classified, a direct method to reach the many other classified staff across the state. Many of the 4CS Executive Board have already signed up and are eager to participate with you. Sharing information and making new contacts is a valuable resource for all. How valuable the classified listserver becomes is up to you. The more folks that sign up and use the service, the more valuable it becomes. So, let's get connected. Please help spread the word!
