American River College

I have been serving as the Classified Senate President at American River College (ARC) since July of 2017. During this time, in collaboration with other classified professionals, I have been able to revamp the Senate Bylaws as well as increase senate membership from 7 to 20 senate members. I have also assisted in increasing classified participation in campus governance, such that there are now over 30 individuals serving on various campus and district teams and committees. My goal is to keep classified professionals informed and communicate the importance of the classified voice in campus decisions.

In my regular position, I am a Student Personnel Assistant in the Dusty Baker Student Athlete Resource Center at ARC. I work with about 500 athletes; with my assistance and dedication, 15 of 20 ARC Athletic Teams reached their all-time high GPA’s in the last 4 years.

I possess a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Science Degree in Counseling (Career Counseling Specialization) from Sacramento State University. I have worked in various educational systems such as the CSU, UC, and Community College system. In addition, I excelled in marketing in the private sector, but my heart brought her back to education. My passion truly lies with community college students. I was the first in my family to graduate from college, and I believe that the California Community Colleges is where I can make the biggest impact.
