4CS Board Bios

Benita BrionesJulie Whiting
President Emeritus
DeVry University

I have served on the California Community Colleges Classified Senate (4CS) Executive Board since 1999. In June 2007 my term as president ends and I’ll be transitioning into the role of past-president.

In February 2007 I moved into a classified management position as the Director of Outreach and Community Relations at San Joaquin Delta College after 10 years with the State Center Community College District. During that time I managed to complete a Masters in Public Administration from CSU Fresno and have recently completed the coursework for a Doctorate in Educational Leadership through UC Davis and CSU Fresno. I just need to find the time to buckle down and complete that dissertation.

My professional speaking portfolio includes workshops at the Community College League of California Annual Convention, The 4CS Classified Leadership Institute, the 4CSD Annual Conference, and various community college professional development and leadership events.

As a mother, student, community college employee and active 4CS board member I strive to exemplify leadership and serve as a role model for others. I consider myself a coach and offer my assistance to those looking to improve their leadership, communication, or networking skills.
