Grossmont College

I have been working at Grossmont College since October of 1998, as the Allied Health Professions Specialist, and as Program Specialist in EOPS. The Classified Senate has introduced me to so many inspirational people from across the state. It is wonderful to learn about how other colleges are succeeding with students and how I can improve our corner of the college community. There is no greater compliment than when a student says "I want to do what you do for a living." The secret is--it may not necessarily be the tasks that we do, but how we execute them with a joyful spirit, how we collaborate with so many others on our campuses, and how we strive for service that extends beyond "just getting the job done". When students see these things; energy, collegiality, and service-oriented attitudes, they too will execute their schoolwork and professional careers with similar qualities that will extend to our community. Live Empowered and teach others to empower themselves - One person can make a difference.
