Classified Leadership Institute

The annual Classified Leadership Institute (CLI) focuses on effective classified participation in participatory (shared) governance processes, both state-wide and at the local district and college levels. Participants attending the CLI conference will explore numerous events that encourage personal development, leadership, and strong communication skills, leading toward increased confidence, enhanced professional skills, and broad-based knowledge of our California Community Colleges. Activities include both interactive and informational sessions with ample time for networking and workshops where newly acquired skills can be utilized in a supportive environment. CLI is designed to meet the educational needs of today's California Community College Classified Staff.

Classified Senate Website Competition!

4CS cannot achieve its goals without the support of California Colleges, classified senates and sponsor contributions. Help raise funds for 4CS, your state senate organization. Be the Classified Senate or Classified Governance Organization to earn the highest number of points for obtaining 4CS Sponsorship from July 1, 2017 through March 2, 2018, and win a paid CLI Registration for the 2018 Classified Leadership Institute, to be held June 14 - 16, 2018 in lovely Ventura, California. (Does not include Lodging)
To sign up to participate, Senates must first register to be an active participant of the competition by submitting an entry form. Get as many sponsors as possible by having them submit sponsorship applications. Make sure to designate on the sponsor application or in the comments section online, your senate name. You will receive one (1) point for every $10 in sponsorship. Please email your entry to our 4CS Treasurer Trisha Albertsen at and start earning points.

4CS wants to recognize the classified employees who have received recognition on your campus by including them in the CLI Awards Dinner Recognition Presentation. Please send the name, photo, and award title in the online form. Deadline May 31, 2018.

Opportunity Drawing
During the length of the conference, we will be holding an opportunity drawing fundraiser to help us raise funds to provide the necessary resources needed to make sure our classified staff members and students successful. We are asking for your support by contributing an in-kind gift for the opportunity drawing. Your donations are not only tax deductible, but a reminder of how you contributed to such a worthy cause. You can personally donate an item from your favorite place or take the letter to your favorite store and see if they would be willing to contribute. To participate in the drawing you will purchase tickets and place them in the bag(s) of the items you wish to win.
